Trekforce Support Walking The Amazon

Trekforce Worldwide are proud to support Ed Stafford and Luke Collyer as they aim to walk over 4,000 miles unsupported and unguided from the source of the Amazon River in southern Peru to the mouth of the Amazon River in Brazil. The undertaking will be done in one outing and the pair intends to start in April 2008.

If the pair complete the journey through one of the most amazing and threatened eco-systems left on Earth they will be the first men ever to walk the Amazon.

Ed was the Belize Country Manager for Trekforce Worldwide during the 2007, 5 month gap year, and Luke accompanied Ginger TV as Trekforce took Jack Osbourne into the rainforest of Belize as part of the Adrenaline Junkie series, filmed in 2006. Both have led for Trekforce on many occaisions in some of the most challenging jungle environments in the world. It is great that yet again Trekforce produces the leading talent in rainforest exploration and expeditions.

Mike is an expert on human health and endurance under extreme conditions. He has studied this based on personal experience - running marathons in the Sahara, and trekking across polar ice with Ranulph Fiennes. In 1992/3 Stroud and Fiennes made the first unsupported crossing of the Antarctic continent.

The guys are raising money for the following charities: Rainforest Concern, Project Peru Orphanage, Action for Brazilian Children, Cancer Research UK, The ME Association, The Outward Bound UK Trust.
