It is important to prepare for an expedition adequately. In order to administrate ourselves it is vital to be in possession of an individual med kit for minor injuries and complaints. Each team member will have a small amount of medical kit that they can use without having to drain the resources of the main medical kits including:

• Wound dressing - medium x 1 and Crepe bandage
• Adhesive plasters - assorted sizes
• Zinc oxide plaster tape
• Medicated body powder (zinc oxide)
• Fungicidal foot powder (e.g. Mycil)
• Fungicidal cream x 1 tube (eg Canesten or (Daktarin)
• Antiseptic wipes
• Hydrocortisone 1% cream for bites
• Antihistamine tablets (e.g Piriton or Clarityn tablets)
• Rehydration sachets x 20 (e.g. Dioralyte)
• Imodium capsules x 12
• Your usual painkillers – for headaches/period pain

Volunteers will be given instruction on the usage of all the elements of their personal medical kit.
