You will be taught to light fires, maintain them and to safely extinguish after use.

Jungle Survival - Fire Lighting

This is an absolutely necessary skill to master, as all cooking on a jungle expedition is done on open fires. It is also good for morale, keeps away the bugs, a means of signalling distress and provides warmth.
