Fundraising

Trekforce Worldwide is a charitable company. This means that ANYONE can fundraise for the charitable work you will be doing for the environments and communities as part of a Trekforce jungle expedition or teaching placement, on behalf of Trekforce Worldwide.

It is important that if potential donors ask what you are fundraising for, you don't mislead them. If asked, you should say "I am raising funds for Trekforce Worldwide a UK-based, volunteer organsiation, dedicated to delivering challenging expedition programmes consisting of sustainable projects, language, teaching placements in diverse environments."

You can more easily fundraise if you go with an organisation that is genuinely doing good, long-term and sustainable work. Trekforce ensure that our projects benefit the host country and you will be helping to educate children in deprived areas.  All of our funds cover the set-up, operation and management of our programmes, as well as on project and field costs.

As long as you are open and honest with what you are going to do overseas and who the money is going to and why, you can fundraise for your expedition! When you sign up we will give you a comprehensive fundraising booklet that has helped many of our volunteers over the years.

Is it realistic to fundraise?

Absolutely! With some time, effort and proper planning, any fundraising you do can make a sizeable dent in your expedition target. If you're really take up the challenge, it could effectively cost you nothing!

Fundraising can rely on a number of sources, such as sponsored events, donations from companies/trusts, discounts on equipment, or social events. Fundraising should be a fun experience and is a lot easier if you break down the amounts to make it more manageable. 

Over the years our volunteers have concocted many exciting and unique ways of fundraising, such as pub quizzes, leg waxing, and sponsored walks. When you sign up, your fundraising booklet will have a good range of examples of fundraising.
