TREKFORCE WORLDWIDE: an overview

Trekforce Worldwide. The experts in delivering remote rainforest conservation projects, teaching placements and challenging expeditions, which sustainably protect vulnerable environments and assist rural communities throughout the world. We are on the Executive Committee of the Year Out Group and are fully committed to raising the bar on operating standards for expeditions and placements overseas. We have a strong ethical and responsible travel policy and are the leaders in challenging expeditions with purpose.

As Bruce Parry, a former Trekforce leader, put it:

Our expedition expertise lies in three key areas:

1. GAP YEAR AND CAREER BREAK EXPEDITIONS

Trekforce's established gap year and career break expeditions work with remote communities in far flung corners of the globe, combining the challenge of expedition life with sustainable conservation projects. Individuals can also enhance their overseas experience and develop their own skills with language training, remote treks, teaching placements and diving courses.

Volunteers could find themselves deep in the Belizean rainforest looking for Mayan ruins or teaching children in a rural school. TFW has a series of varied gap year expeditions at the start of every year and shorter career break expeditions during the summer months.

2. CORPORATE SOCIAL RESPONSIBILITY PROJECTS

Trekforce Worldwide also provides overseas challenges for blue chip companies looking to fulfil their CSR requirements, whether it be community and health programmes in Northern India or working to save endangered orangutans in Borneo's rainforests.

Companies can also use these projects to raise money for their partner charity, reward their employees and develop their workforce. Expeditions serve as the perfect framework in which to develop individuals and engender a sense of teamwork among colleagues.

Trekforce Worldwide is excited to announce they have just signed a deal with Carphone Warehouse to run their next major charity challenge in September 2008. Taking as many exmployees who are up for the challenge on an 8 day "Survivor Challenge" through the Lake District. For more information call the office on 0845 241 3085. Carphone hope to raise many thousands of pounds for charity whilst puttingtheir staff through some very challenging and team biulding excersises. The event will culminate in a worthwhile conservation project for the local area.

3. EXPEDITION CONSULTANCY FOR TV & FILM

Drawing on its vast knowledge and experience, Trekforce consults television production companies with technical advice and assistance for filming in any of the world’s extreme environments, be it the jungle, desert, mountains or the polar regions.

Whatever a production company’s needs, no matter how remote or hostile the terrain, Trekforce Worldwide can assist with both the planning and execution phases. In recent years the BBC, Ginger TV and Ricochet have all benefited from Trekforce’s expertise in this area.

BESPOKE EXPEDITIONS

In addition TFW can design bespoke school expeditions or for companies to meet your own project or adventurous requirements. We will look at all expedition and trekking disciplines and design an itinerary and expedition accordingly.
